Collection: Gunes Caglarcan

Güneş Çağlarcan is a multidisciplinary painter and pianist based in Istanbul, Turkey. His artistic practice explores the relationship between perception, emotion, and human connection. Drawing inspiration from the complexities of the human mind, interpersonal relationships, and inner reflection, he investigates how both intellect and emotion shape the way we perceive the world around us.

His work examines psycho-visual phenomena and the influence of memory and past experiences on perception. Through layered compositions, he challenges viewers to reconsider what they see, using perception itself as a central element of his artistic language. Objects, figures, and forms emerge through a visual dialogue between recognition, memory, and interpretation.

As both a pianist and painter, Çağlarcan is particularly interested in the intersection of sound and image. He often incorporates musical structures, rhythm, and improvisation into his visual practice, creating works that bridge multiple sensory experiences. He regularly collaborates with composers, musicians, and performers in exhibitions and immersive installations.

Güneş Çağlarcan studied piano at the Istanbul University State Conservatory and through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). He also holds an MBA degree. Over the past five years, he has gained recognition as a rising contemporary artist through the development of his internationally exhibited Shadows Collection. Alongside participating in numerous group exhibitions, he has presented several solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad.

Currently working between Istanbul and Los Angeles, Çağlarcan continues to develop multidisciplinary works that bring together visual art, music, and storytelling, with a growing focus on creating multisensory emotional experiences that deepen the connection between artwork and audience.
