IAN SULLIVAN

IAN SULLIVAN

Welcome to 1DROP: Ian Sullivan

Three new works. One unmistakable New York voice.

We're thrilled to welcome Ian Sullivan to the 1DROP Gallery roster.

Ian is a New York native whose work pulls directly from the city that raised him — spray paint, acrylics and ink layered into murals, illustrations and cityscapes that capture the tension and momentum of growing up here. His signature style, Fear of Negative Space, fills the canvas almost entirely with shapes, lines, and hidden messages. Look long enough at any Ian Sullivan piece and it keeps revealing itself.

Most of his work centers on Syn, a recurring character he uses as a kind of emotional stand-in — a soft, expressive figure set against the cold geometry of New York streets. It's a contrast that does a lot of work: vulnerability against concrete, character against chaos.

The résumé speaks for itself

Ian's commissions and collaborations read like a cross-section of culture: Post Malone, Disney, Swizz Beatz, Keith Urban, Yung Gravy, SLAM, Faith Connexion, Kipling, One World Trade Center, Barclays Center, and Avery Williamson of the New York Jets. His work has shown across top NYC galleries and is regularly on view at Anderson Contemporary.

He's the kind of artist collectors notice early and hold onto.

We're launching Ian's collection with three originals — each one a different entry point into his world.

From a $700 piece for a first-time collector to a $4,000 anchor work, the collection is built to meet you where you are.
